Arthur G. Woodward, litigation department chair of Reynolds Maddux Woodward LLP, has represented a wide array of construction industry clients for two decades. Mr. Woodward also has a wide range of experience representing clients in complex business litigation matters, real property and land use matters, as well as providing his clients the adept advice and counsel needed to successfully navigate through commercial real estate loan restructuring and workouts.

Mr. Woodward is a highly respected member of the legal community in the Sacramento Valley and Placer County regions, and brings years of valuable experience to the table for his clients. Art is a strong advocate for his clients, understanding the kinds of issues affecting them, and he brings a high degree of professionality. Art held the position of co-chair of the litigation department of Sacramento’s largest law firm, Downey Brand LLP, and served as the practice group leader for the firm’s construction litigation group multiple times. He is an early neutral evaluator for the United States District Court for the Eastern District. Art holds an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

Art represents contractors, owners and suppliers throughout California on complex public works and private construction projects. His practice covers all aspects of construction, from the initial concept to project completion. Art is well versed in the nuances of construction contracts and public works bidding. He works with his clients to minimize the impact of disputes during construction and to posture the claims properly for post-completion disputes. In the event their project results in disputed claims, clients look to Art to bring his depth of understanding of construction law to outline a strategy for a winning claim or a successful defense. Art is equally at home in mediations, arbitrations and court litigation. He provides a pragmatic approach and expertise representing clients in bid protests, mechanics lien and stop payment notice claims, contract disputes, payment and performance bond claims, scope of work and change order disputes, critical path delay claims, False Claims Act claims, prompt payment penalty claims, subcontractor listing issues, licensing issues, construction defect issues and contractor termination matters.
